Shopping Cart Help

How to book on-line
Choose your booking payment on the page below and click on the button to add it to the cart. Return as necessary to add other items.

Each of the buttons adds an item to the shopping cart. You can change, remove, or cancel the shopping cart contents at any time before checkout. After adding an item to the cart, to return to the RoseLight site and add other items, click on the "continue shopping" button or click your browser "Back" button (often quicker). You can also always view your cart by clicking on the "View Cart" link on the navigation bar.

Note that the cart will remember items you selected from a previous visit if you do not remove them. If you need to remove an item from the cart, check the "remove" box at the left of the cart item(s) and then click the "Update Cart" button at the bottom of the screen.

Bottom line
This is a new system, and we are ironing out the difficulties as we go, based on your feedback; we've tested for bugs, but, there may be others we discover as we go. So, if you find it too difficult for any reason, you can always fall back on calling your reservation into the office voice mail at 707-782-1948. We would appreciate hearing from you about your experience so that we can improve the system.

Below are additional tips, explanations and workarounds. This page is revised with new info as each issue is found, so revisit this FAQ before anything else as your issue may have been covered since your last visit.

How on-line payment works
Each of the buttons adds an item to the shopping cart. You can change, remove, or cancel the shopping cart contents at any time before checkout.

Continue Shopping
After adding an item to the cart, to return to the RoseLight site and add other items, click on the "continue shopping" button or click your browser "Back" button (often quicker).

View Cart
If at any time you want to view the contents of the cart without adding an item, click on the "View Cart" link on the navigation bar at the top of the screen. This will open the cart in a separate window.

Removing cart items
To remove an item from the cart, check the "remove" box at the left of the line item and then click the "Update Cart" button at the bottom of the screen.

CD Singles buy 4 get the 4th one free discount
The discount works on the web by you choosing the 4 single CDs that you want and then going to the discount page and clicking the Single CD credit button. This adds a discount refund request item to the cart. On receipt of your PayPal payment, the value of the discount is then refunded to your PayPal account. The discount is operated as a refund to your PayPal account because at the present time, it is not possible to pass cart deductions through the PayPal system.

Shipping costs
Before checking out by hitting the "Pay with PayPal" button at the bottom right of the cart screen, if you have product items that need to be shipped to you, please remember to fill in your country and zip code (post code) in order to get an accurate shipping rate.

Remembered cart items
The cart currently remembers items from your previous completed purchase. This is a design feature of the Auction Inc cart and is intended as a safety in case your session is interrupted in some way. The fix is to remove the old unwanted items manually as described above. We are working to change this behavior in future.

PayPal "View Contents" button not working
Some users on Windows XP with Internet Explorer have found that the PayPal payment screen "View Contents" link does not work. The workaround for this is to use a different browser, such as FireFox, available for free download for Windows and Mac at http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ or to call in your resevation.

Shipping to an International address
PayPal limits non-members to USA addresses. If you need to ship overseas, you need to register as a PayPal member. The payment screen will then allow you to enter a non-US address. Technically you should be able to ship anywhere with or without one, but Paypal seems to like it better if you have one.

Using the message field
Another workaround is to type your shipping address in the message field with a note that it is the address you want used. The message field is on the PayPal payment screen.

Buying from an International billing address
If your credit card billing address is outside the USA, it helps if you register with PayPal as a member and confirm your account with them. Though in theory you should not need to do this, in practice, due to so much scam traffic coming from overseas, it seems there are restrictions if you are not a member.

Small non-AVS credit cards
Even some USA-based credit cards are not accepted by PayPal if they are not part of the PayPal "AVS" credit verification system. This is PayPal's way of communicating with the credit card company to verify the address of the card. The workaround is to use a card from one of the major credit card networks (Visa, Mastercard & American Express).

Typing Credit Card numbers into PayPal
When you type your credit card number into the PayPal screen – either to make a one-time payment or to register with them as a member, you must type the number without spaces. People who have entered numbers with spaces like on their card have been rejected by PayPal. e.g. if your number is 1234 1234 1234 1234 you should type it as 1234123412341234.

PayPal Email Receipt
If you make a successful payment, PayPal will send you a receipt by email with the title: "Receipt for Your Payment to RoseLight". If you are a PayPal member, you can also verify that a payment was made by logging into your PayPal account and looking at the transactions listed under the "History" tab.

Auction Inc
When you click on a button and are taken to the cart, you will see the browser URL change to http://www.auctioninc.com/cart/ We use Auction Inc to minimize shipping charges on an order: Instead of the high blanket rates charged on simpler shopping carts, Auction Inc provides us with multiple shipping services (we use USPS and UPS) and precise up-to-date rates based on your country and zip (post) code.

PayPal Inc
We use PayPal for credit card payment processing as they are one of the largest and best known companies and you may already have a PayPal account. They also accept credit cards directly without you having to register as a PayPal member.

PayPal phishing scams
Due to the popularity of PayPal (86 million users) and the large number of new users who are unfamiliar with on-line systems, con artists are operating and may send you messages. The commonest is a "phishing" attack, in which an email is sent – purportedly from PayPal, telling you your account needs verifying in some way and asking you follow a link to sign into a web page. DO NOT follow these instructions. They are an attempt to trick you into giving your password to fraudsters. PayPal will never ask you to give details about your account. Forward all such emails to scams@paypal.com

Protect Your PayPal Account Info
PayPal says: You should never give your PayPal password to anyone, including PayPal employees. Make sure you never provide your password to fraudulent websites. To safely and securely access the PayPal website or your account, open a new web browser window (e.g. Internet Explorer or Netscape or Safari or FireFox) and type in the PayPal URL (https://www.paypal.com/us/) to be sure you are on the real PayPal site. PayPal will never ask you to enter your password in an email. For more information on protecting yourself from fraud, please review our Security Tips at https://www.paypal.com/us/securitytips
